Ok, yes I know, it’s been awhile. Well, I’m back and I have some recommendations for you. A couple of these i meant to talk about a few weeks ago, but kept putting it off. Anyway, here it is:
-
Paper RoutePaper Route is an amazing band that I first heard about in college. Their live show is filled with incredible energy and if you have a chance to see them live I definitely recommend it. If you can’t do that then their latest album, Absence, will have to suffice. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Manchester OrchestraA very old friend of mine once played a show with Manchester Orchestra about four years ago. I went, listened, and instantly adored them. Their new album, Mean Everything to Nothing, is a little on the harder side than their previous work, but at the same time they continue to hone their skills. I’m impressed with how far they’ve come.

Conor OberstThis album is one of the more different albums I’ve come across from Conor both from his new band and his old Bright Eyes. He elicits the help of his band more than ever and doesn’t even do the lead vocals on all of the songs. I personally really enjoy Conor, but I know that there are those of you who can’t stand him one bit.. won’t name any names.. Anyway I enjoy Outer South and think you should at least check it out.

PhoenixNow even though Nolan Ross and I might not agree on all music we certainly do have some similar interests. I have to thank him for showing me Phoenix months ago and getting me excited for their latest album. I tend to love really dancy music that just makes you want to move. Phoenix does this to me. Check out 1901 and Liztomania to really get you started.

School of Seven BellsOk ok ok this isn’t a new album. I’ve actually been listening to it for a few months now. I just don’t think i’ve ever talked about it. I was recently reminded of it because I saw they were playing here in Nashville soon, and am thinking about going. Their music is almost like electro tribal music. It’s very driven and sometimes I’ll find myself just zoning out to it. No really, it’s great. However, be forewarned I don’t love the entire album, but most of it I do. Its worth at least a couple spins.
